The Nepalese community in Saskatoon was shocked when RCMP/Saskatoon Police officers approached to some Nepalese community members and informed that two of the suspected victims were Nepali folks - Sharad Raj Bagale (Shushanta) and Mohan Bhattarai. The identity of these two victims was tentatively confirmed the next day but was not officially disclosed until their immediate family members were informed. Till then some members of the Saskatoon’s Nepalese community were in frequent communication with the victims’ families in Nepal. As per the wishes of the both victims’ families, the cremation and last rite memorial services were done in Saskatoon on June 14 and 15, 2010 as per Nepali tradition, in the presence of several local members of the Nepalese community, representatives from Hindu Society of Saskatchewan and victims’ colleagues from their employer companies.
