London Ontario Nepalese Community Program held in Canada

London Nepalese Community “UTSAH” hosts an Interaction Program (December 25, 2008) 

      London Nepalese Community organized an interaction program in Platt’s Lane Community Centre on Christmas Day as per the decision of the National Coordination Council of NRN-Canada. There were about thirty-five participants from the London community including three central committee members from NRN-Canada. They were Mr. Naba Raj Gurung (President), Mr. Durga Adhikary (Membership Coordinator), and Mr. Mukti Gautam (Language, Literature and Culture Coordinator).

      The theme of program was briefed by Mr. Jyoti Vaidya (NCC member/London representative). The program was chaired by Mr. Mahendra Ranjit, and Mr. Madhu Sudan Mahat was the rapporteur of the program. The main theme of the program was to discuss NRN’s current and future activities to strengthen the institutional capacity of NRN Canada.

      Mr. Naba Raj Gurung, the President of NRN-Canada elaborated on the current activities of NRN. Other members participated in the discussion by asking questions and providing comments and suggestions. The major points discussed were:   

• History of NRN and current activities
• Dual Citizenship and property ownership
• Children’s program to preserve the Nepalese culture
• School program to teach Nepali language to children
• Proper management of relief fund in Nepal
• Internship program in Nepal for graduate and undergraduate students

      Mr. Mukti Gautam briefed about the possibility of funding from the school board to launch Nepalese language programs in London. He distributed copies of “Chautari”, a Nepalese magazine published from Toronto by a group of Nepalese people.

      During the interaction program, Mr. Durga Adhikary discussed the membership of NRN Canada.

       After the interaction program, children’s activities were held. They were musical chairs, balloon, singing and dancing. Children were encouraged by receiving prizes from

Dr. Sangeeta Dhaubhadel. At the end of children’s program, a small documentary film was presented by a grade 12 student, Ms. Yashmi Mahat, about the fuel crisis in Nepal.

      At the end of the program, Nepali food was served.

कार्यक्रमका प्रमुख अतिथि एन आर एन क्यनाडाका अध्य्छा श्री नवराज गुरुंग ले एन आर अन बारे परिचय दिनु भई एन आर एन  क्यानाडा को कार्यक्रम बारे बोल्नुभाएको थीयो/ वहाले सुझाब बिचार बिमर्ष र सहयोग को लागी सबैलाई अनुरोध गर्नुभयो /  एन आर एन  क्यानाडा   का रास्ट्रीय समन्वय परिषद् का सदस्य तथा भाषा, साहित्य र कला समितिका रास्ट्रीय संयोजक श्री मुक्ति गौतम ले दोश्रो पुश्ताका नेपाली हरुलाई आफना मौलिक भाषा र संस्कृति प्रति सचेतना जगाउनका लागी सबैले  मिलेर काम गर्न आग्रह गर्नु भयो / त्येसई गरी एन आर एन   क्यानाडा का रास्ट्रीय समन्वय परिषद् का सदस्य तथा सदस्यता बितरण समितिका रास्ट्रीय संयोजक श्री दुर्गा अधिकारी ले उपस्थित सबैलाई एन आर एन क्यानाडको सदस्यता बारे प्रस्ट पार्नुभयो / 
 
कार्यक्रम को दोश्रो चरणमा एन आर एन  क्यानाडा को भाबी कार्यक्रम हरु बारे छलफल गरिएको थीयो/  सहभागी हरुले "उत्साह र एन आर एन क्यानाडा एक आपस का परिपूरक हुने कुरामा जोड़ दिए./ त्यसपछि  युबा तथा बालबालिका लगायत सबै सहभागी हरुले गीत, नित्र्य, कबिताबाचन र इनडोर खेलकूद प्रदर्शन गरेका थिए./ सहभागी हरुलाई श्रीमती संगीता धौबडेल ले पुरस्कार बितरण गर्नु भएको थियों. / अन्तमा स्थानीय युबा सुश्री यस्मा महतले आफ्नो हलैको नेपाल भ्रमण का बेला तयार पार्नुभएको डॉक्युमेंटरी प्रदर्शन गरियेको थियों/. 
 

कार्यक्रमको प्रतिबेदन तयार्कर्ता श्री मधुसुदन महत हुनुहुन्थ्यो भने कार्यक्रमको अध्यछ्यता श्री महेंद्र रंजित ले गर्नु भएको थियो
