Community Interaction Program in Montreal

Association of Nepalese in Quebec held an interaction program on NRN-Canada on Saturday March 21, 2009. Mr. Prakash Mungrati, NCC Executive Member, opened the floor and introduced the speakers. Radha Basnyat, NCC Member and Chair of Women and Childran Committee, welcomed all and highlighted the importance of binding all Nepalese living in Canada into one common thread and bringing many organizational programs for our common betterment.  
 
Main speaker of the program, Pramod Dhakal, NCC International Affairs Coordinator, highlighted the brief history of NRN movement, and introduced its organizational structure, and NRN-Canada NCC's place in it. He highlighted the evolution of NRN-Canada its activities, accomplishments, and some vision for way forward. He updated on the efforts made in the constitutional suggestions collection and compilation process, and advancements made in the issues of duel and multiple citizens and other rights of NRNs. 
 
After the speeches, substantial amount of discussions ensued in a positive and inspiring environment. The key area to be improved were identified was communication. It was suggested that NCC would prepare and circulate a written pamphlet of NRN organizational chart, NRN accomplishments and NRN Canada accomplishments. Circulation of NRN Constitution and NRN-Canada to general membership was also suggested. It was suggested that communication seep well down to the grassroots membership as it has been among the ICC members. 
 
Everyone present in the program but who had not previously taken membership of NRN-Canada became member shortly after the program and there were enthusiastic words in expanding the membership.
